extraction des dents de sagesse

Why remove wisdom teeth?

The dental community agrees that extraction of wisdom teeth that are symptomatic, or represent an oral health risk (pain, infection, damage to other teeth etc.), should be recommended. They are extracted in 75% of the population of the 36 most developed nations.

Wisdom teeth emerge later than other teeth: eruption usually occurs between the age of 16 and 25. The wisdom tooth is the third molar, the one at the back of the dental arch.

retrait des dents de sagesse dans notre clinique à genève

We reduce the risk of small trauma to allow the resumption of a normal activity the day after the intervention

1. Complete diagnosis

This is made using panoramic 3D imagery, to determine the exact location of each wisdom tooth, its anatomical position, the eruption axes and the state of alignment of the arches. This diagnosis will enable us to decide whether the extractions are necessary or can be avoided.

2. Personalized sedation technique

Specifically adapted to the patient, this is intended to remove any apprehension about the surgery and stress related to the surgical procedure.

3. Limited number of surgical procedures and sedations

The protocol includes all wisdom teeth to be extracted at the same time.

4. One extraction and double the chance for the future

We offer our patients the chance to have their teeth preserved according to a precise method. After the extraction, the teeth are transported to a laboratory according to strict protocols. The stem cells are then extracted from the dental pulp and reproduced.

"We guarantee post-operative outcomes without pain, while avoiding sources of complications, even benign ones. The patient can resume his activities the next day. "

Stem cell preservation from wisdom teeth

Why is it so important to preserve the dental stem cells contained in your wisdom teeth?

Advances in scientific research confirm that stem cells have considerable potential for many thera-peutic applications Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have a self-renewing capacity throughout the life of the individual. They can also differentiate, under certain conditions, into many specialized cell types. Patients can use their own cells, without needing to search for a compatible donor, which also reduces the risk of rejection. Biobanks, authorized and specialized in the preparation and storage of pulp stem cells, open up access to regenerative medicine of the future.
Among the different types of stem cells, those of the dental pulp have the advantage of being plu-ripotent. They can also be cryo-preserved and then stored for long periods without losing their es-sential properties of multiplication and differentiation. Like milk teeth, wisdom teeth are growing organs and therefore immature. For this reason, their pulp (central area, also called the “nerve”) contains high-proliferation stem cells.
Dental pulp stem cells are easily accessible and are recovered during non-invasive surgical procedures, such as tooth extraction. The tooth must be healthy, and removed for medical reasons. The wisdom teeth, often extracted from young adults aged 16 to 25, can be a good source of stem cells since, at this stage, the pulp is large and the potential for viable cells is high. AS A PIONEER IN THIS FIELD, OUR CLINIC OFFERS A PROTOCOL FOR THE PRESERVATION OF YOUR DENTAL STEM CELLS, WHICH ARE TAKEN FROM YOUR WISDOM TEETH, THEN CULTURED FOR A FEW WEEKS IN A LABORATORY BEFORE BEING PLACED INTO LONG-TERM STORAGE. IN RESPONSE TO THE GROWING DEMAND OF OUR PATIENTS, THE PRESERVATION OF STEM CELLS IS PAVING THE WAY FOR COUNTLESS FUTURE CELL THERAPIES”
